For some families, the holidays can be extremely challenging. Financial problems, illness, and other stressful situations can make it difficult to celebrate. Perhaps a helping hand is just what some families in our community need. The Morehouse Junior High School Student Council recently sponsored a toy collection drive for those who are in need of assistance. Students, faculty, and staff donated toys, games, books, and DVDs from December 17th-December 19th. All of the items were delivered to a non-profit organization on December 20th. Ms. Comaletha Stevenson, the Student Council sponsor, would like to thank everyone (including family and friends) who contributed to the Toy Drive. It is our hope that our generosity and kindness will brighten the recipients’ holiday season.

In November the Student Council sponsored a canned food drive. Together we collected 1,635 pounds of cans that went to the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana where the food will benefit the surrounding areas! Check out the "Photos" page to view more!
